The Essential Heartland RV Accessories You Must Have

Apr. 9 2020 Buying Guide By ___

Heartland RVs come with a wide range of fantastic features, giving you just about everything you need to enjoy your next RV trip. But it doesn’t cover all your bases. As any experienced traveler will tell you, there are additional accessories you’ll need to get, both to cover the bare essentials and to make certain parts of the vacation more relaxing. The list of accessories is extensive and covers all sorts of needs, but Noteboom RV has provided a handful of the most important and common accessories for your Heartland RV. You can also contact one of our locations in Harrisburg, SD, serving Sioux Falls, and Sheldon, IA, serving Sioux City, with any additional questions you may have.

The Bare Essentials

There are some accessories that don’t come with a Heartland RV, but should be purchased before you take it on its first camping trip.

Hoses

There are a couple of standard hoses you’ll need to get in order to properly use some of the functional features on your Heartland RV. This includes a drinking hose to hook up to the fresh water outlet on the exterior of the camper, as well as a sewage hose. A sewage hose allows you to safely and cleanly empty your holding tanks. We also recommend getting disposable gloves for cleaning out the holding tanks.

RVMinders

This may not sound like an essential, but trust us, it is. Setting up and tearing down your Heartland RV requires a lot of steps. You don’t want to pull out of a site with the sewage hose still attached or the antenna still up or some other step that you missed. RVMinders are a collection of slap bracelets that you can put around the steering wheel, one for each step. As you check something off the list, you can remove it until there are no more RVMinders on the wheel. Then you know you’re ready to roll out.

Safety

On top of having a good time, you’ll want to make sure safety is the first priority for you and the rest of your camping party. This can be helped by some key safety accessories.

Fire Extinguishers

These are a must, especially if you enjoy campfires. We recommend having a few scattered all around your Heartland RV. One in the front, one in the back, and one that’s accessible from the outside.

Tool Kit

There are a surprising number of things you can fix while you’re on the road. Make sure you have the tools to do it. Collect some basic tools to keep in your Heartland RV so you can address the occasional problem that doesn’t require professional intervention.

Other Items

A few fun items around your Heartland RV never hurt!

Outdoor Recreation

You’ll probably spend quite a bit of time outside your Heartland RV, but even when you’re relaxing at the camper, you can enjoy some time outdoors. This can include things like a hammock and chairs to make sitting outside more comfortable. Get a propane fire pit if traditional options aren’t always reliable and metal skewers for roasting marshmallows.

Solar Panels

If you’re looking to run on a more economically friendly power source, you might want to install solar panels, particularly for sunnier parts of the year. These can also be helpful to those who camp off the grid fairly often and need an alternative energy source to keep your Heartland RV running.

Heartland Merchandise

Heartland even sells official merchandise! Through the Heartland RV Owners Club, you can show off your ownership pride through decals, caps, tumblers, flags, blankets, and so much more. You can also find apparel, bags, and more through the official website, so if you haven’t had a chance to look through the official site, we highly recommend taking some time to shop through your options.

These are just a handful of ways you can improve your Heartland RV experience, but there are hundreds of accessories that can make for a better camping trip. But first, you need a Heartland RV. Contact Noteboom RV and let us help you find the perfect model, even in these unusual times. We proudly serve those from Harrisburg and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as well as Sheldon and Sioux City, Iowa.
