Buying a Used RV Can Be Better

An RV is a big investment, so you want to make the best choice that you possibly can. Just like cars, RVs depreciate in value over time, and new ones do so faster. In addition to holding their value better, used RVs can offer benefits that you wouldn't think of. There Are Many Different Types of RV

Recreational vehicles vary greatly in their sizes, prices and uses. There are four main types:

  • Class A Motorhomes
  • Class B Motorhomes
  • Class C Motorhomes
  • Fifth Wheel RVs
  • Travel Trailers

Class A RVs are the biggest and most luxurious, and they're your best bet if you plan on big family vacations or living in one for an extended amount of time. Class B's are smaller and more like big vans, and they have many different uses. As for class C's, they are quite similar to class A's, but slightly cheaper and lighter on amenities. 

Fifth wheel RVs and travel trailers are quite a bit different than motorhomes, as they don't have their own engines and require being towed. Travel trailers are the most affordable and versatile kind of RV, and come with some of the nicest floor plans available for living or traveling in. Fifth wheel RVs typically have more space and higher ceilings, many of them even boasting two levels of living space. However, they do need to be towed by a powerful vehicle. 

Storing Your RV May Be Challenging

It's worth noting that if you don't have the space on your own property, quality RV storage can be expensive. To avoid too much deterioration, you want your RV to be safely covered when you're not using it, so it's important to go with a reliable facility or lot. Make sure that when planning for your RV purchase, you have extra money set aside for storage if you don't have access to free storage space.
